Shane McFarlane Obituary
McFarlane is part of the morning trio Clairsy, Shane and Kymba.
His breakfast show co-hosts were off the air Friday as they sought to cope with the death of their friend and colleague.
The station released a statement on Facebook, saying the breakfast host died Wednesday.
"Shane has been part of the Mix 94.5 family for 14 years and will leave an enormous hole in our hearts and on our airwaves," the statement read.
"We extend our deepest sympathy to his family and friends and welcome your messages of support and love."
The station, meanwhile, paid tribute to McFarlane at each news break, reflecting on his 17-year radio career throughout Australia.
The tribute was recorded by McFarlane’s long-time colleague, Adam Hemmings.
“As a team we’re in deep shock,” he said.

You had a voice that no matter what was going on in my life over the past few years would bring a smile to my face, many times I found myself chuckling away laughing out loud at the traffic lights on my way to work listening to your anecdotes or hearing what your going to war on this week, I was shocked and saddened and like a family member had passed when I heard the news :( thoughts to your family, and friends, you will be greatly missed in many lives x
