Hesston, Kansas, Shooting Victims Obituary
Another 14 people were injured. Police killed the shooter, who worked at the business, according to the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office.
Police were called around 5 p.m. Other callers reported a shooting at Excel Industries in Hesston, Kansas, a business that manufactures lawn-care equipment.
Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback expressed his condolences to Hesston residents, a town near Wichita. The governor ordered flags flown at half-staff Friday.
“Please send your thoughts and prayers to the people of Hesston tonight,” Brownback tweeted.
CNN reported that a witness told CNN affiliate KWCH that the shooting distressed many of the workers, who cried and hugged in the aftermath of the violence.
"I've never experienced that before," the witness told the affiliate in an emotional interview. "You think you're safe at work and you're not. It's just scary."
