UCLA Shooting Victim Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 1, 2016.
One person is confirmed dead after a shooting on the UCLA campus, according to multiple news sources.

The shooting took place in an engineering lab at the school. According to the University, law enforcement officers were sweeping the building for a possible active shooter.

The campus along with a nearby hospital and three elementary schools are also on lockdown.

The FBI and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were responding, according to the agencies. The Los Angeles Police Department was placed on citywide tactical alert and sent hundreds of officers to the Westwood campus and surrounding neighborhoods around 10:30 a.m.

Bahjat Alirani, a senior, told NBC News he was in the engineering building for an exam when he ran into a police officer. "He was pointing a big gun and said for everyone to run and get out of the area," Alirani said.

My sympathy to the families of this tragedy. God is near to all those calling upon himand there cry for help he will hear. And his ears are toward there cry for help. (Psalms 145: 18, 19) May the God who supplies endurance and comfort be with you, and help you to endure the loss of your loved ones. We wish you peace and strengthsmiles among your tears as you remember the happy times shared.
