Orlando authorities said they consider the violence an act of domestic terror. The FBI is investigating.
Ricardo Negron Almodovar said he was in the club when the shooting started about 2 a.m. He barely escaped. "People on the dance floor and bar got down on the floor and some of us who were near the bar and back exit managed to go out through the outdoor area and just ran," he posted on the club's Facebook page. "I am safely home and hoping everyone gets home safely as well."
President Barack Obama called the mass shooting at an LGBT Orlando nightclub Sunday an "act of terror" in remarks to the nation from the White House briefing room.
"We know enough to say this was an act of terror and an act of hate," he said. "The FBI is appropriately investigating this as an act of terror. We will go wherever the facts lead us ... What is clear is he was a person filled with hatred."

We are a school in rural Somerset in England. This is a message of condolence from our LGBT+ support group.
We are between the ages of 13 and 18years of age and were dreadfully upset and horrified when we heard the terrible news coming from Orlando. We wanted to stretch out our hands across the ocean to show our support during this dreadful time. Angels were there to catch them as they crossed to the other side.
Everyone that crossed over is now watching over their family and friends.
They would tell you if they could that they are happy where they went to.
They will be there waiting for you when you cross over.
