Orlando Nightclub Shooting Victims Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 12, 2016.
Authorities now say that 49 people were killed and more than 50 people were injured early Sunday in the wake of a shooting inside a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, according to police.

The nightclub tweeted, "As soon as we have any information we will update everyone. Please keep everyone in your prayers as we work through this tragic event. Thank you for your thoughts and love."

Orlando authorities said they consider the violence an act of domestic terror. The FBI is investigating.

Ricardo Negron Almodovar said he was in the club when the shooting started about 2 a.m. He barely escaped. "People on the dance floor and bar got down on the floor and some of us who were near the bar and back exit managed to go out through the outdoor area and just ran," he posted on the club's Facebook page. "I am safely home and hoping everyone gets home safely as well."

President Barack Obama called the mass shooting at an LGBT Orlando nightclub Sunday an "act of terror" in remarks to the nation from the White House briefing room.

"We know enough to say this was an act of terror and an act of hate," he said. "The FBI is appropriately investigating this as an act of terror. We will go wherever the facts lead us ... What is clear is he was a person filled with hatred."

We invite you to view profiles of those who lost their lives and share condolences in our Pulse Nightclub Memorial Site.

We are a school in rural Somerset in England. This is a message of condolence from our LGBT+ support group.
We are between the ages of 13 and 18years of age and were dreadfully upset and horrified when we heard the terrible news coming from Orlando. We wanted to stretch out our hands across the ocean to show our support during this dreadful time. Please accept our deepest sympathies and know that as a support group we all play a part in working together to ensure equality for all members of the LBGT communities. We send our heartfelt sorrow to the family of the dead and the injured. RIP XXX

My heart and prayers go to you and your families whether you lost a loved one or have a family member injured. This is a horrific act which is beyond comprehension. I cannot pretend to understand the pain and suffering this is causing for you and your family but I can try to imagine. There are not any real good words for times like these but I hope some healing and pain is lifted from the support you receive from your fellow people around the earth during and long after this time. May you always remember all the good times and memories and may the tragedy be diminished in your mind. God bless you each and every one.

For the survivors of this horrendous ordeal, and the countless loved ones and family members: I hope that sometime and in some way these words may give peace or comfort. You are all forever etched in my thoughts.

God's Lent Child
God's Lent Child - Unknown

"I'll lend you for a little while
A child of mine" God said -
For you to love the while he lives
and mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years
or forty two or three
but will you, till I call him back,
take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you
and, should his stay be brief,
you'll have his nicest memories
as solace for his grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from earth return
but, there are lessons taught below,
I want this child to learn.

I've looked the whole world over,
in my search for teachers true,
and from the things that crowd life's lane
I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love,
nor think the labour vain,
nor hate me when I come to take
this lent child back again?

I fancied that I heard them say,
"Dear Lord Thy Will Be Done"
for all the joys thy child will bring
the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
we'll love him while we may,
and for the happiness we've known
forever grateful stay.
But, should thy Angels call for him
much sooner than we planned,
we'll brave the grief that comes
and try to understand.

I shake my head in disbelief.

I'm sad
I'm angry
I'm hurt
I'm vengeful

I'm an American

My heart and prayers go out to not only the victims and their families and friends, but to the ENTIRE LGBT community worldwide.

This New Yorker stood with you before and I will continue to stand with you now and forever.

If there is anything (good) that can come from this tragedy, it's that Americans have a greater understanding and hopefully respect, for the LGBT community.

RIP to all who were senselessly murdered. Your memories will live forever and the light which emanated from your souls when your were alive, will continue to shine bright through the memories and stories which your family and friends will tell forever.

To all the people that lost a loved one at the Pulse Nightclub,

Angels were there to catch them as they crossed to the other side.

Everyone that crossed over is now watching over their family and friends.

They would tell you if they could that they are happy where they went to.

They will be there waiting for you when you cross over.

The pain is great the heartache is unbearable
and time does not heal the pain.

For all the family and friends that lost someone they loved I'm so sorry I wish I could turn back time but I cannot and your time on earth must go on as hard as it will be for you.. your loved one would want you to go on living your life and being happy.

Remember they are watching you from the other side.
