In Bristol (UK) we held a vigil for the 49 souls lost in the tragic events that occurred over the week-end. At the vigil we released a balloon for each of the victims who suffered and died as a result of this hate crime. My colleague Paul and I were honnoured to release a balloon in the memory of Anthony. Although I would never know or meet him, I felt a strong connection with him as I watched his balloon soar up into the skies of a city across the Atlantic from where he lived. We must never forget the people who lost their lives on that dreadful night; the World must pay attention to these crimes of hatred and learn the real cost to the communities who suffer such atrocities.
