Ryan Jimmo Obituary
Jimmo, who also competed in season eight of “The Ultimate Fighter,” had a 19-5 overall record in mixed martial arts.
Also known as Big Deal, Jimmo was a former champion in the Maximum Fighting Championship’s light heavyweight division, where he started his mixed martial arts career.
Jimmo, who was born Nov. 27, 1981, in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, held the MFC record for most consecutive title defenses, with two, and the most fights in MFC history, with 11.

Word of his death prompted a flood of condolences from fans and fellow fighters on social media.
The mixed martial artist Sean O’Connell tweeted: “@RyanJimmo KO’d me in my @UFC debut. But we knew and supported eachother long before that. RIP to a man who was much more than a fighter.
On Instagram, Jamie Varner posted a photograph of him and Jimmo. Both men are smiling.
“The world lost an incredible man this weekend. With a very heavy heart, I regret to inform all of you that Ryan “The Big Deal” Jimmo passed away. He was a very dear friend to me. We worked together on many projects and shared many laughs. I will greatly miss this man and all of his quirkiness. He was a brave warrior, articulate gentleman and passionate humanitarian. #ripbigdeal #ripjimmo”

I got to know Ryan couple years ago. He was smart, kind and one of the nicest guys I've ever met. So sad to hear of this tragedy. My heart goes out to you.
