Martinson was born Jan. 16, 1915, in Boston, Massachusetts. He debuted as a director during the early 1950s with television Western series. In 1966, he directed two episodes of the “Batman” TV series and went on to direct “Batman: The Movie.”

In addition to “The Brady Bunch,” Martinson directed episodes of “The Six Million Dollar Man,” “Mission: Impossible,” “No Time for Sergeants,” and “Wonder Woman,” which featured Lynda Carter.
