So sorry to learn of his death. I have been a fan of Mose for over 40 years. First saw him at a small club in Western Massachusetts in 1973. His witty, understated, articulate piano and vocals were so great. I saw him again in a small eastern Connecticut town event about 10 years ago. He is and will be on my playlist forever.

The first Mose song I ever heard:
"My momma told me and my papa said it too
He said, "Son, fate is bound to catch up with you..."
He was right.

I last saw Mose in Carmel, Ca. A number of years ago. It was a small venue of 35 people or so. Clint Eastwood was in attendance and he also was a big fan. What a huge loss to the jazz community. Thank you Mose for introducing me to your wonderful brand of music.

I saw Mose sometime in the 70's when I was 15 years old. He was playing at a nightclub in Cleveland and I had to have a phony I.D. to get in. I remember it to this day, so dark and smokey. Thnx Mose.

I saw Mose Allison perform in NYC,
circa 1960. I'm pretty sure it was at Birdland, I got to know his music from the
Symphpony Sid show on WWRL. I have several
of his albums, he was one of a kind, and
that voice; totally unique. I still sing
"Parchman Farm" in the shower, and since
I occasionally sing in bars and restaurants
on LI, I feel I should perform it the next time I get the opportunity,as a tribute
to the great, uncatorizable, Mose Allison.
RIP Mose. Condolences to the Allison family.

Probably innumerable are the pianists and others who were touched strongly by Mose Allison and his particular take on jazz and blues. I first heard him in Arizona as a kid in the 60s and copied many of his tunes in my own way, especially Seventh Son. Thanks for a long life of great music and inspiration, Mose.

I found Mose or he found me about 25 years ago now.
He just struck me, with his honesty, humility and humour.
His quietness and extraordinary musical timing.
I can't believe that someone like Mose Allison ever really truly existed.
Thank you, thank you and always thank you
Love Paul:-)
