Steven McDonald did so much good in his life and helped so many people. He could not have served God better than he did. His wife Patty could not serve God better than she does. His son Conor could not serve God better than he does. Steven, Patty and Conor are role models and people I strive to be. To raise a son like Steven McDonald would be the greatest gift you could ever receive. To raise a daughter like Patty would be the greatest gift you could ever receive. To raise a son like Conor would be the greatest gift you could ever receive.

I remember when this officer was shot.
He is such a remarkable human being.
He was following in the footsteps of
our Lord Jesus Christ.
Det McDonald is a modern day saint sent
from heaven.
My deepest sympathy to wife Patty and son
Connor.
Steven will be in the arms of Jesus and be
able to walk again.
He is an example that the whole world should
follow.
Forgiveness isn't easy in a case like this, but Steven accomplished this act
of courage.
A true man of God and heaven awaits Steven.

Steven McDonald personified courage, dedication, loyalty, excellence, heroism and passion: attributes that truly define each and every legendary NY Ranger whose number already hangs from the rafters of Madison Square Garden. Thus, it would be more than appropriate and duly fitting to retire Detective McDonald's Badge #104 to the iconic Garden ceiling for all eternity. God bless him, his family and may he forever rest in peace....

To The Family of Steven, From The Family Of PO William L. Chisolm, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Your loved one has only slipped into another room. He is the gentle breeze upon your face.Remember his smile and laughter and the special moments you shared. I served with Steve as a Hospital Corpsman at Parris Island in the late 70's and am proud to have called him my friend. Always quick with a smile. He was a hell of an athlete and I played hoops, softball and a little football with him. Hoisted a few brews as well. So sad to see another good one go. Cheers Steve.

Patricia McDonald, We say goodbye to your husband and it seems that all the bells of the world resonate of pain, because leaves an extraordinary man, beloved as well as beloved father who leaves a great legacy.
Although the pain fills us, with special amazement we see that what fills us, fills and surpasses is not the suffering, but the admiration for the life of a magnificent man, for having had the honor to know it.
Your husband was undoubtedly a presence always loved and respected in every circle to which he belonged, and it is in these where we are going to miss him, where we will want him for ever, even though he has gone ahead.
My most grieved, sincere and regretted condolences in this dark hour of the death of your husband.
Sorry

Thank you for allowing God to let his glory shine through you, Steven. I learned more about you last year through watching the documentary Face of Mercy in which you were interviewed. You truly trusted in the words of Sacred Scripture that for those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose, all things work together for good (cf. Romans 8:28). You continue to touch lives. I feel your presence with us in the communion of saints. Pray for us as we pray for you. United in prayer through the Eucharist. A devoted friend in Our Lord Jesus Christ, Joseph
