Kent Damon Obituary
Damon publicist Jennifer Allen says Kent Damon died on Dec. 14. She said Saturday he died of complications from multiple myeloma, a rare blood disease that affects bone marrow.
Kent Damon's condition had worsened over the past few months.

Matt Damon has worked to raise awareness and money for cancer research and treatment since his father was diagnosed in 2010. The "Good Will Hunting" and "Jason Bourne" star hosted private fundraisers in Los Angeles and attended benefits for the Massachusetts General Hospital's Cancer Center in Boston.

So sorry to just find out this sad news, my condolences to Matt and Kyle; I babysat for the two boys when they lived briefly in Newton, they were lots of fun! I worked with Kent Damon briefly for Bethlehem Steel on the 42nd Floor of The Prudential Building's Boston Office. My father, James E. Clabby worked for Edgecomb Steel's Milford, Connecticut Branch. The Damon Family owned Edgecomb's Nashua, New Hampshire Facility. Sadly there is another irony-my father also died of complications of Multiple Myeloma. My condolences to the entire Damon Family.

When I worked for Bethlehem Steel in the 1960s Kent Damon was stationed in our office in the Prudential Center. The Damon Family of New Hampshire were owners of Edgecomb Steel, later Edgecomb Metals. My father, James E. Clabby was employed as Superintendent of The Edgecomb Plant in Milford Ct. Kent had only a brief career with Bethlehem as he was attracted to other career interests. I believe he joined a major investment firm as a broker.
I have enjoyed many of Matt Damon's collection of films and hope that he continues on with his highly talented and successful career.

Kent Damon had to have been an awesome person. You just can't raise a son like Matt Damon and not have been! A real man who instilled in his son Matt the true values of life! It must be the most painful loss anyone could know.

I'm so sad to read about this news. I didn't ever see anything about Matt Damon's father, but then again I don't watch a lot of tv or movies these days. but I'm betting he is like his son Matt, who we know a little bit about from his movies and interviews on tv. Matt seems like a wonderful good man, and has done good humanitarian works for the better of people that were in media news over the years. I'm betting his Dad was too and was a good man.
