South Carolina Amtrak Train Crash Victims Obituary

An Amtrak train collided with a freight train in South Carolina, killing 2 people and wounding at least 100, according to multiple news sources.

Amtrak number 91 was traveling from New York to Miami with 147 passengers on board.

The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. in Cayce, South Carolina.

Lexington County spokesman Harrison Cahill said injured passengers were taken to local hospitals.

The two people killed were Amtrak personnel, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said in a press conference.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher released the names of the deceased on Sunday afternoon.

Michael Kempf, a 54-year-old train engineer from Savannah, Georgia, and 36-year-old conductor, Michael Cella, of Orange Park, Florida.

I am sorry to hear of the untimely passing of these victims of the Amtrak train crash. Sadly we are living in a time described in God's Word the Bible as being "time and unforeseen occurrences." (Eccl 9:11) Thankfully very soon our Heavenly Father will step in and rid the earth of any such occurrences happening again. He will accomplish this by means of his Kingdom in which we pray for in the Lord's Prayer.
