Deanna Lund Obituary
Lund’s daughter, actress and author Michele Matheson, told The Hollywood Reporter that Lund died Friday, June 22, 2018, from pancreatic cancer.
Lund starred as party girl Valerie Scott on “Land of the Giants.” The Irwin Allen series aired on ABC from 1968 until 1970.
She married her “Land of the Giants” co-star Don Matheson in 1970. They divorced in 1980 but their daughter Michele told The Hollywood Reporter in 2014 that the pair remained great friends.
Lund took up acting at Rollins College in Florida. She moved to Hollywood and appeared in the 1965 movie, “Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine.” She played the Riddler’s moll on an episode of “Batman.”

Lund had roles in two Elvis Presley movies, “Paradise, Hawaiian Style,” and “Spinout,” and starred opposite Frank Sinatra in “Tony Rome.”
After “Land of the Giants,” she appeared on the TV shows “Love, American Style,” and “The Waltons.” Her later movie credits included “Hustle” with Burt Reynolds and “Hardly Working” with Jerry Lewis.
In addition to Michele, she is survived by her daughter Kimberly and son Randy along with seven grandchildren.

Deanna was wonderful. How do i know this? As someone that never met her, it's my intuition. It's is just like what Natalie Wood once said, "you have to acknowledge and appreciate the public that loves you, because they get a feeling about you, but still keep walking on when you meet them out there." Or words to thst affect. Yes, that is how it works. I Ioved Deanna even though i never met her. What a dearest person she was and i wish she live longer than age 81. RIP Miss Lund

My deepest condolences to Deanna's family. I've heard about her death only recently. I was once part of her fanclub. She was a classy lady and was my role model.
My mother passed away last October. My mother and Deanna were both 81 and both died of cancer, which is striking and very symbolic for me : the two most significant women in my life. As I've been also a fan of Land of the Giants, I have pictures of Deanna and all the episodes, a great way of remembering her. My mother favorite music was The four seasons of Vivaldi, I suppose Deanna liked it too, she was a woman of taste. So, from now on, this music will be a tribute to my mom Lili and Deanna as well. As long as I live, they both will be in my heart forever,

I remember how excited I was at 7 years old for the Sunday night premier of LOTG on ABC. I grew up watching you Deanna and then reruns later. The entire cast was well cast. Your beauty will reign forever. Say hello to Don Matheson, Don Marshall and Kurt K. I'm sure they welcomed you with embrace at His gates. Can't wait to see you again.
