Tony was a mentor, friend, and comrade to me for almost 30 years. Goodbye ole friend. I still follow in your footsteps at some level. I was proud to support him in our first operation together in 1974. (The tooth fairy operation). Toby or Amanda can tell you about it. God Bless you Jonna, our prayers are with you all.

I had the great honor of meeting Mr. Mendez and his spouse, several years ago, during his "Argo" book signing in Hagerstown, MD. The book & subsequent movie brought back memories at the time the 52 hostages were released and transited through Wiesbaden, Germany, where I was serving as a member of the US Air Force. Having been part of such memorable history is truly humbling.
My sincerest condolences to his family. Mr. Mendez ranks high among American heroes. RIP.
