I had the privilege to meet and talk with Baxter in Memphis in January of 2018. I listened to him speak at a conference and his message was powerful and uplifting. He is and was a true Hero. God Bless him and his family. He has fought the fight, He won his fight, now he can rest easy and look down upon all of us and watch his victory continue to move forward.

God sends unsuspecting heroes our way all the time. Sometimes we just don't know who we are looking at. Mr. Baxter Leach you were a hero because you showed us how to stand for right and justice. Your efforts and words are cemented for life. Rest my brother from your labor. From your fellow 1968 Striker Ozell Ueal Sr.

As a son of 1968 Sanitation Worker, I express my condolences to the Leach Family.
I know the Leach Family and I can tell you that this family is strong and love each other. Mr.Leach was a role model and like an uncle to the sons and daughters of 1968 Sanitation Workers.

After my father passed away in 2005, I could call upon Mr. Leach to tell the story of the strike that brought Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr to Memphis at programs I organized in Memphis.I know that my father is welcoming Mr.Leach to Heaven with open arms. Johnnie Mosley
