Reading JRR's letters to his son said everything about how close they were. How lucky are people who have shared this kind of unconditional love. I admired Christopher's work with his father's writings and the work he did after JRR's death that allowed so many of us to continue to enjoy the world he created for Christopher and then generously shared with the world. Thank you Christopher Tolkien, rest in well deserved peace.

Sad to hear of Christopher's passing. He carried on his father's legacy. I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien that Christopher worked on. He has now gone on to the Great Hall of his fathers.

I read The Hobbit for the first time at age 8 in 1977. This was the introduction to my fascination with Tolkein's writings. Christopher and his father were masters of their craft. Now Christopher has left his writings of Middle Earth and joined his father beyond the sea.

Dear Mrs. Tolkien and family, Please know how deeply grateful we readers across the globe are for Mr. Tolkien's work both in furthering word of Dr. Tolkien's later writings and in working to preserve the integrity of the memory of his father. This is true loyalty and unselfishness. Given the extent of this work, I have to assume that Mr. Tolkien followed Christ, has his father did. I hope to meet him one day at Christ's throne. In the meantime, please know that I send prayers of deep gratitude to you and all who mourn this fine man.
