I was very sad to hear the loss of Astrid Kircherr-she documented the early days of the Beatles
which now has historical value and also helped Stuart Sutcliffe in supporting his painting-she will now be with her beloved Stuart.

I love Astrid 's moody photos, perfectly capturing the zeitgeist of the early 60s in Germany. She was a true visionary. I hope she and Stuart are having a helluva reunion. Godspeed.

I am considered The French Beatles Historian, as such I always considered Astrid with high esteem and tenderness. You could say she was lucky to meet the Beatles in their early days, but they were fortunate cross her path and gave her the right advice to change their attitude and look. She was gifted enough to capture them and offered to us those iconic pictures when they already had the charisma of the superstars they would quickly become. I interviewed the cast of the film "Backbeat" and was keen tyo meet Astrid but it never happened. So sad that you Astrid may you find your dear stu in the land of the lights.

Another soul from our youth has left the planet in search of freedom from the bounds of this life. The lady saw something special in a group of young men embarking on their own journey and hitched a ride to see where it would take them all.
Rest well Astrid and thank you for introducing us to them; for putting their images on photographic paper for posterity.

A true visionary. We all like to think if we saw the Beatles in Hamburg we'd instantly recognize they'd change the world forever. Astrid along with Klaus were those people. They could see into the future and contributed greatly to their astonishing success. Astrid thank you for your vision and brilliant sense of style. I wish I had been there with you.. RIP
