We will miss Mr. Bill Wright's presence and his beautiful smile. He was the first Black golfer to win a USGA event in 1959. He later became a teaching pro at the California golf course the Lakes at El Segundo. He had many contributions to his community, especially for anyone wanting to learn the game of golf. May the family, friends and colleagues who loved him and the special memory you shared with him show just how much your life was touched by him. Words could hardly express the sorrow felt for the loss of Mr. Bill Wright. The pain of losing someone is something we never get used to. But at Isaiah 65:17, 22-24 our Heavenly Father holds out a grand promise. May your faith in His promise strengthen you as you look forward to its fulfillment.

Seeing Bill Wrights obit makes me feel he helped pave the way for Tiger Woods, Lee Elder....V.J. Singh....his road there was not smooth given the time period but His determination to stick with His talents & passion is unmeasurable. It paves the "go ahead and dare me'..platform. I recall working with Bill when we were both working in a Medical Unit in Seattle, using the old armory, now where the food circus from the 1962 World's Fair. We were together on their what I would now call "psychological team". When we went to summer training we were given a small tent for three of us and spent most of our time having officers and others visiting to talk about golf. We had no opportunity to become close as I was there only one year, but I enjoyed his company and glad I got to know him during this time. God bless him as he was a fine person.
