Rest In Peace Brother! I first met Phil at the Jeff Beck "Blow By Blow" show at the Shrine Auditorium with my dear friend, and fellow Musician, William Olvis. We have been friends with Phil for over 40 years! Remembering Phil playing with Rod Stewart at Long Beach, then showing up at my Apartment in Hollywood, looking for Susan Youngblood to record some "Backing Vocals" Thanks Phil for coming out to our home so many times with Einstein Brown and Johnny O, Great Reagge Music! Robby Krieger sends his Love, many Great Memories for us! Chris, Jan and Johan Oiestad aka: Johnny O And Friends

It’s September 2024 and I am only now discovering that Phil passed away in 2021 and I am so sad to hear this news because I had hoped to contact him. I met Phil and his brother 53 years ago in 1971 at Heathrow Airport when I arrived in the UK to start my first trip to Europe. I was 22 and scared and Phil (who was 26) and Francis noticed me looking lost and offered to help me. They carried my luggage and gave me a ride to my hotel; helped me check in and re-wired the plug of my American hair dryer to suit the UK. Then they invited me to dinner at their family home and later showed me some sights in London. They became my honorary brothers for a few days and they took good care of me. I’ll never forget their kindness. Phil was such a talented musician but so humble. He hardly spoke of his amazing career. I wished I could have hear him play live.
Phil kept in touch with me via letters for a few years after 1971 and then we got too busy to write but I never forgot Phil. May God rest Phil’s kind generous soul. I think God used Phil and Francis as “angels” at the London airport to help a young scared American girl and to welcome me to the UK. I send warm wishes and God’s comfort to Phil’s family.
