Puerto Rico has lost its champion for equal rights, a true friend in the fight for equality, Congressman Don Young.

On March 29, I had the privilege and honor of representing our Delegation of the Statehood Party (PNP) of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives at our Nation’s Capitol to bid farewell to Congressman Young.

To his wife Anne, to his direct and extended family, our prayers go to them. RIP Don Young.

To Anne, Don's children, grandchildren, friends and family member,

As you mourn your loss, may you be comforted that Don died while doing what he loved most and committed his life to...service to Alaskans and his country. The penultimate Alaskan, there will never be anyone like him.

My condolences, Victoria Kjos

I had the honor of working in the House while Congressman Young served as Dean. Although we come from different parties, his devotion to his beloved Alaska and to our country will remain a source of inspiration to me. I am thinking of his beloved wife, who was always with him when I would encounter him in the Capitol, his family, constituents, and his staff.
