The passing of Lester was noted with sadness by the racing community in New Zealand. There are many with fond memories of meeting him on the the times he rode here. Best wishes to his family.

As an ex Racing lad, today the standards of Jockeys and racing is so low, they should look at what Lester did for racing and the highest standards he give , he made it truly the king of sports.
