Condolences to family of Marysol. From the time she became famous in public as the queen, I was struck with her beauty and her kindness. I was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and her legacy will remain as one of the most beautiful and kind lady ever.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marisol in Phila in 1970! Yes, the year she became Miss Universe. I had been crowned Su Majestad Josie Ramos as Queen of the Phila. Spanish Parade in 1970. Marisol was invited to the Parade banquet the night of the Parade. I remember going home after the parade to remove my gown and dry it in time for the banquet because it rained hard that day. I sat at the head table with her. It was a memorable night not just for me as Queen of the Parade but to be in Marisol's company. She was Miss Universe, beautiful, articulate and stunning! It pained me to hear of her passing. I am now 70 years old and will never forget that night and my pride to have the first Puerto Rican Miss Universe at our Parade banquet. RIP beautiful Marisol!

I was six years younger than you in 1970, and I still remember the elation I felt the moment you were crowned Miss a Universe! Not only were you very beautiful but you were smart. Thank you for making us proud of being Latin.

I met Marisol as her treating Occupational Therapist some 10 years ago in South Florida for a minor hand issue that she had been dealing with. Often patients begin to feel comfortable during treatment and will share some of their stories. While I initially saw her as a very well spoken and attractive woman in her 60's she began to show me that she was so much more than that as she talked about her past experiences with the Miss Universe program and as a newscaster. She was a fascinating lady and it was easy to see both the grace and grit that she possessed. I was so sorry to hear of her passing, but was so pleased to have known her.
