I was so so so sad to hear of the tragic loss of Heather Armstrong. I can't stop thinking about her beautiful kids and family, and just feeling for that awful loss. Heather was a huge inspiration to me and to so many others. Her writing was wonderful, so funny, so honest, so truly loving. I hope her kids can hold on to the love she expressed so beautifully and have amazing lives as she would want them to have. I personally will never forget her, even though I never met her. Rest in peace, dear Heather.

Heather was such a profound writing inspiration for me. Back when I was first parenting and found her blog, she was still writing about her job, and struggles she had with certain conditions we... well? We shared. She was so funny, and no-nonsense, and came across with an honesty that was a refreshing change compared to a lot of other blogger. Life is not always perfect, and she made it okay to express that. I will never forget her for showing me that, and she will really be missed.
I am just a reader of her work, but I felt like she touched my life in a way that few could.

Thank you for inspiring me to create my blog in 2006 and eventually writing four non-published novels. . I began reading Dooce in 2006. I always looked forward to her blog entries. I could relate to her in many ways. My thoughts go out to Heather’s children and family during this incredibly sad and tragic time. RIP Dooce. ♥

I didn't know Heather " in real life" but I read her blog voraciously so I did know her in a manner of speaking. I found her humor of motherhood a relief; and solidarity in her trauma of postpartum depression, which she wrote about in her first book. Her final blog post at dooce.com gutted me. I sobbed. For her children. For Heather. And for me, as somehow I escaped the beast, but she couldn't.
My heart goes out to her family. Heather, may you have the peace you sought.

"She’s in the sun, the wind, the rain,
she’s in the air you breathe
with every breath you take.
She sings a song of hope and cheer,
there’s no more pain, no more fear.
You’ll see her in the clouds above,
hear her whisper words of love,
you’ll be together before long,
until then, listen for her song."
