I was blessed to meet Dave at an NRCS soil health training that was held in 2013 at his own farm; there would have been no better place to have such a training. It was exhilarating to listen to a man speak with such passion and wisdom that could only come from practicing his art for decades. I listened to Dave speak on a few other occasions after this as I fell in love with his passion and love for farming with nature and not against it. I always left inspired and filled with a sense that we farmers and conservationist can feed the world while also being stewards of the earth.
With deepest sympathy to all who knew him.
