I'm a 76 year old quadriplegic that's been confined to wheelchair 60 years, now. I started watching "Flying Wild Alaska" when, it first aired. I thought it was a new and refreshing show that, was more real than most of the shows on TV today. I was amazed at how one man (Jim Tweto) could run that whole airport. What a guy. With help from his wife and kids they did a great job operating their airport. Flying Wild Alaska TV Show entertained me week after week. I could see Jim was a good guy being there for whoever need his help or services. My condolences goes out to wife and family. Even though he is no longer with his family, they have all the fun and happy memories of him. Jim, will live on in their minds forever. God Bless the Tweto Family.

I am a 71 y/o physician, pilot and a Christian. I grew up in Africa with parents who were missionaries. We came into contact with conventional gear aircraft. In my college years I decided that I wanted to learn to fly in a taildragger. I accomplished that in a Citabria in between residencies. When I first came across Flying Wild Alaska, I was thrilled. I have watched every program that I had the opportunity to see. I loved the family interaction, the different pilots, their aircraft, their flights and the whole situation. I always had the greatest admiration for Jim Tweto. He was an original. He was obviously independent but strong, quiet but ultimately effective. His development of ERA from scratch is a huge testimony to his organizational skills besides all of his other attributes. The most important thing I remember about Jim Tweto is that his family came first before any business or any other considerations. His respect for his wife, Ferno, and his kind speech to his girls as well as his employees is to be modeled by others including myself. What a human being he was! There will not be another like him. I pray most of all that Ferno and the girls will know the peace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Thank you, ladies, for sharing your husband and father with the world. This world is a better place because of Jim. May God richly bless you!

One of the few tv shows that has family morales and scripted with real life situations. No need for special effects to capture the interest of anyone who enjoys aviation and some who could be drawn into it.
From the outside looking in, Jim was the catalist for a successful business and a loving family. My heart aches for the family and all who knew and loved him!
