Dick, You were one of a kind. You saw me through my high school years and no matter how much time passed, you always remembered me and were there for me. I am glad that you met my wife. Words could never hope to express how much I love you and am grateful to you. No one will ever know what I would not do to have had one last chance to speak to you. I am grateful To Almighty God every day for the genuine honor, pleasure, and privilege to have known you. Rest in Peace. You will always be The Greatest!

Mr. Biondi was a good radio DJ back in the day, my parents got me into the oldies back then I had no idea that he died, he will be missed by his followers listeners. Many years ago, in 2003. I got to meet Mr. Biondi, he was doing a toy convention at my local mall my mother dated this one guy who knew him personally.
Farewell Mr. Biondi, you will be missed.

I listened to him in the late '50s, when he was a night-time jock on Buffalo's WKBW. I lived in Rochester, and WKBW turned up the wattage at night. Also had Tom Shannon, whose theme song was "Wild Weekend" with lyrics for his show: "This is the place for news & weather; the place we get together; on the . . . Tom Shannon show".

Dick was my radio favorite in the 60 s. One Friday night he took my phone call and told all of Chicago to have peanut butter pizza.. He lite up my life by talking to me. Sometime in the 2000 area I met him at the Lombard, IL. Jaguar dealer where was doing a broadcast. When he realized I was the guy on the phone 40 years earlier, he hugged me. He the put his arm around me and we sang "On top of a pizza" on the radio. He was a great person and probably one of the best DJ's ever on the radio. I miss you dick. Thank you for all the memories.

My parents listened to Dick on KBW in Buffalo, New York, so I naturally have spent the last 30 years listening to him courtesy of his Cruisin' 1960 album. Thank you for the great music memories, Dick.

Dick was so kind and caring. We used to chat on the phone. He'd say hello to "My favorite clown, Sweet Patootie." My friend and I would drop off toys at Christmastime as Santa and Mrs. Claus. Dick would jump in our large bag. He was such fun. Also got me thru some dark times. A true friend. I miss you, Dick. Rest in Peace.

Dick Biondi was like an older brother to me in '61 & '62. I was in 7th and 8th grade and my Dad was still working nights after my Mom died, back then. So, after homework, as a latchkey kid, I would turn on WLS and he would "rock me." I wonder if Mr. Biondi realized how just being on the air, he was there for so many of us middle schoolers ( as they call them now ). God bless your memory, Sir, and thanks for being there for me as a 12 & 13 y/o. Ed Lapinskas - [email protected].

I got to know Dick a little when I was hosting a radio show on The Score. What an absolute pleasure and delight he was. He was the soundtrack of my life, starting when I was 13 years old and growing up in Steger. When I finally got to know him a little, the pleasure was all mine. What a gentleman. What a Chicago treasure. I wish I could have been half the radio guy he was, not to mention the kind of person he was. Rest in peace my friend. You touched so many people in your amazing life and I’m forever be proud I was one of them.

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs in the 60’s listening to Dick Biondi every night! I loved him! I listened on my transistor radio to WLS under my covers when I should have been asleep. In 1968 I broke my wrist in a fall from a horse when I was in Colorado; I was flown home for surgery. Dick Biondi came to see me in Elmhurst hospital! I don’t remember how he knew I bet it was my Mom! He was a legend. He was that crystal clear high energy voice out of Chicago! You could even get the station and his show in the Rockies! He played the BEST music! May he rest in eternal Peace. ✝

I wish to extend our condolences to Dick's wife and family on his passing. Dick Biondi was definitely, as Robert Feder once described him, sui generis (one of a kind). We met Dick and his wife after I won a contest for a Double Date with Dick Biondi. The prize was joining them to see the matinee of Jersey Boys followed by dinner at 35 West downtown. Dick was a wonderful host and very charming. We had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner and conversation. We subsequently met him at a the Italian Festival in Addison that summer and at several of his Christmas toy drives. He always remembered my wife (and me). Probably my fondest memory was when I called in a request for him to play my wife's favorite song on our 25th anniversary. Not only did he play it but he also gave a wonderful introduction to it congratulating me on marrying her. Dick will be missed. We will remember him in our prayers. Jim Percic

I met Dick Biondi in the early 70´s at WCFL while being a radio groupie and reconnected during his WJMK and WLS days through appearances, sock hops, toy drives, concerts, etc. He was a true legend as a DJ and the most humble and nicest person I have ever met. My condolences to his wife Maribeth, his family and friends. I was blessed to have known him and will truly miss him. Until we meet again Dick. You are loved by so very many. Rest in eternal peace.

U became a part of my life in 1967 when I came to Michigan City, IN. Your voice caught my attention at once as did your attention to your fans. Later I learned of your heartfelt caring for kids by hosting the toy drives. Your records live on in my heart. To say the least .... you are an Angel now, but, you were always an ANGEL on earth. Rest in peace.

Dick, you have touched our lives through your gift of voice, your love of people, and your heart so big it could scarcely fit in that skinny frame of yours. There will never be another like you, Wild I-Tralian. We love you and thank you for enriching our lives for 67 years on the airwaves. After giving so much of yourself to your artist friends and your beloved audience, know that your memory will live on in your documentary film, TMTHE VOICE THAT ROCKED AMERICA: THE DICK BIONDI STORY. Rest in peace, Dick. We love you and always will. P

To say that Dick Biondi was a great part of Chicago only tells part of his story. I met Dick at several events across the years. Most recently at CD&ME in Frankfort. The amazing thing was that each time I talked to him, he sincerely spoke to me as a friend he had known a long time. We always spoke of our first love. The origins of Rock and Roll and Doo Wop music. We even sang a couple of lines together. What a great guy. I think he understood the bond that the music created for everyone that grew in in Chicago at that time. I know he's up at that big record hop in the sky, spinning all those records. Rest in Peace my friend.
