Lifelong fan of the maestro. Attended his performances way back when at ISU University, The Saber Room, and the St. Louis arts festival. Met him backstage at all of these performances. Sat within 3 feet of him at The Saber Room during his performance. Even shared a breakfast with him at the Holiday Inn in St. Louis following his performance there. His amazing talent will endure throughout the ages.
RIP, Peter. You probably never knew the joy you brought to your audiences - and you may not have cared because I could see that your music transported you to another world.

Peter performed with my dad's orchestra in Washington DC at the SHOREHAM hotel in the sixties. I knew him in Philadelphia where I performed at the Barclay hotel. He was a giving artist that inspired my piano playing professionally for years. Every arrangement he did on the piano of every song of his many albums were concepts that shaped me musically. His chord choices and playing were what inspired me to practice long hours.) He was a musical encyclopedia of knowledge who taught us popular music from the concept of a classical concert pianist mind. He was amazing to watch in his performances. You could name the song and I knew which album it was from of his. Many times we talked I told him about his practice methods while watching TV. He said that there was a saying that do as I say and do as I do were two different things practice wise. Knowing the piano as well as he did he could do that. He will be forever missed as a fantastic pianist and mentor to me.
