Monica Prejean Sevin

1963 - 2024

Monica Prejean Sevin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at The Crossing with Clarity Hospice, at the age of 60 after a two year and three month long courageous battle with cancer. She was a native and lifelong resident of Brusly. Monica was an employee for 18 years of the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office as a Civil Deputy Sheriff. Visitation will be at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen on Monday, April 15th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, April 16th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Miles Walsh. Per Monica's wishes, cremation will follow, and her ashes will be entombed in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Mausoleum at a later date. Monica is survived by her husband of 35 years, Wallace "Wally" P. Sevin Jr, their son, Wallace P. Sevin III and wife Loren Cruz; mother, Genevieve "Gladys" Lefeaux Prejean; brother, Thomas "Tommy" G. Prejean Jr and wife Danielle Gum Prejean; nieces, Brettanye Michelle and Genevieve Prejean; numerous family members and friends. Monica was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Glenn Prejean Sr. The pallbearers will be Wally Sevin, Jr and Wallace Sevin, III and Tommy Prejean.
