Katherine Powers Obituary
Katherine "Kathy" Louise Powers joined the Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at her home in Fredericksburg, Va. She was born on January 11, 1956.
Kathy spent her life perfecting her craft as a dog groomer. Eventually running her own business, 4 PAWS Salon, for nearly fourteen years. She was known for her servant heart, and having the kindest smile. She was the best daughter, mom, and grandma to her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Murphy.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara Zirk; a brother, Frank Murphy; a sister, Debra Woodard; a son, Greg Powers; a daughter, Tara Powers; her grandchildren, Scotty Hancock and Alexis Powers; and many nieces and cousins.
Family, friends whose lives Kathy touched are invited to Hollywood Church of The Brethren, 225 Ferry Rd., Fredericksburg, VA 22405, from 11 a.m until 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022, to celebrate the life of such a wonderful woman.

My deepest condolences at the death of your daughter, Kathy. My baby boy Kevin, at 3 1/2 years old died in 1998. My heart breaks for you. I am also The Compassionate Friends Fredericksburg Chapter Leader which is a self-help support group for all bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents who have lost a child. I am here for you if you need me. Praying for you all.
