Robert Bishop Obituary
Robert Barry Bishop, 69, of Spotsylvania, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was a beloved husband, father, PawPaw, uncle, cousin, son-in-law, and friend to all who knew him.
Barry was a graduate of Spotsylvania High School. He was employed at Southland and McLane Mid Atlantic for 36 years. Barry also ran his own tree business. His passions were hunting, fishing, football games, soccer games, trips to the horse barn to watch his granddaughter ride, and summer vacations with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Brenda Bishop; daughter, Jennifer Bishop; son, Travis Bishop; granddaughters, Mallory Taylor, Izabel Van Lieu, and Meadow Van Lieu; mother-in-law, Montez Farmer; nephews, Larry, Bryant, and Kevin Bishop; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Virgie Bishop; and brothers, Harry and Larry Bishop.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Laurel Hill Memorial Park. Lunch will immediately follow at Tabernacle United Methodist Church.

My sincere condolences to Barry's family.
Like many, I knew Barry since grade school thru our graduation at SHS. Barry did love that white Chevy and we spent hours in the school parking lot comparing work we did on our rides.
Old friend, you will truly be missed.

One of the best men I have ever know. Grew up with Barry during a time period that was great! My father was long time friends with Harry and Billie Marrs. Barry and I played baseball together and I had the honor of riding in his 1962 ( I think ) white Chevrolet Impala ! Barry ram his truck for the same people my dad drove for. Barry loved his family! He was a straight forward man as all Bishops are. He was a good man! A very good man! I am so sorry I did not get to spend more time with him!

We all share our lives with family and friends Barry was a good friend and of course we shared a lot of adventures and laughs Barry grew up with the nickname(Hot Dog) in school like many of us did mine were (chicken breast. Gumby and more ) Barry was a man that worked hard raised a family he stood up for what was right and May God Bless Him and his Family
