Ron Arnold

Ronnie "Ron" Eugene Arnold, born April 14, 1946, departed this life on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, after a brief illness that he fought with strength and determination, just as he lived his life. He's survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl Robinson; his son, Sky Arnold.

Arnold was born in McAlester but spent his early years shaded by the giant redwood trees in Crescent City, California. Like many of his generation, Arnold served in the Vietnam War achieving the rank of Sergeant while working as a Combat Engineer. After serving, Arnold moved to Tulsa where he worked as a carpenter and later, oversaw maintenance at Leisure Manor Apartments.

Arnold was a noted traveler, scuba diver, and adventurer. Long before such trips became popular, he joined his wife traveling to remote locations in Belize, Bonaire, and others to go on diving excursions and photograph the undersea life of the Caribbean. He also had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and camping, sailing his catamaran, and racing motorcycles.

Per his wishes, Arnold's family will not be holding a service, and will instead, return his ashes to the Caribbean waters that brought him so much joy in life.
