Sylvia Gullekson Obituary
Graveside funeral services for Sylvia Jean Gullekson, 73, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., in Rose Hill Cemetery on February 21, 2023. Pastor Paul Ortiz will officiate, with services entrusted to Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Sylvia Jean Gullekson was born December 18, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to William and Kay (Shamel) Lewis. She departed this life on February 17, 2023, at the age of 73.
Sylvia was raised in Tulsa, where she attended local schools, graduating from Nathan Hale High School. Sylvia went on to graduate from Tulsa University, where she earned a degree in nursing. During her career, Sylvia was employed in the health care industry as a nurse and also as a health care administrator. Over the years she was employed by Doctor's Hospital and St. Francis Hospital, from which she retired after a career spanning more than 30 years.
Away from work, Sylvia enjoyed being around lakes and water. Sylvia loved to swim, and also enjoyed scrap booking. Above all, she loved the time she spent with her family, caring for her children and grandchildren.
Sylvia is survived by her father, William Lewis; sons, Jeff (Tina) Shatto, Chris (Emily) Gullekson, and Brady (Andrea) Gullekson; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Bridges; brother, John Lewis; and sister, Peggy Lewis.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her mother, Kay Lewis-Sien; daughter, Saterra Shatto; sister, Anita Kay; and sister, Muriel Ann. www.rosehilltulsa.com
