Gerald Schlehr Obituary
Gerald Lee Schlehr, 69, of Orange, Va., went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
He was born in Altoona, Pa. to Richard L. Schlehr and Verna (Yeater) Schlehr. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Schlehr; a brother, Robert Schlehr and wife, Peggy from Middletown, Pa.; two daughters, Angela Shoemaker and husband, Todd of Jonestown, Pa. and Karisa Bilmanis and husband, Daniel from Lutherville, Md.; four grandchildren, Levi and Anna Shoemaker and Owen and Elijah Bilmanis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; mother, Verna; and brother, Donald Schlehr.
Gerald was a graduate of Philadelphia College of Bible, and held a Masters Degree in Theology from Dallas Seminary. He was the Pastor of Calvary Independent Church in New Castle, Pa. and a teacher at Moody Bible Institute extension school in Ohio. Before retiring he was the Manager of Kohls Department Store in Culpeper, Va. He loved to spend time with his family and golf.
There will be a memorial service held at Rhoadesville Baptist Church, 26042 Lafayette Drive, Rhoadesville, Va. on March 11, 2023. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Service will be at 11 a.m. Pastor Todd Shoemaker will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to North Annville Bible Church, Annville, PA 17003.

Jerry has been such close of mine for years. It is safe to say he was like my brother. If he was your friend you knew he was a friend for life. Jerry was a carrying and loving man. He was great at giving advice and would absolutely do anything for you. He spoke of his Vickie and his kids and grand children often. He certainly loved his family! Jerry, I am going to miss you! I know we will see each other again someday. You were a courageous, loving and GOD fearing man. I will always hold a place in my heart for you brother. Peace, Love and Prayers to your family!
