Johnny P. Humfeld
RIENZI, MS - Johnny P. Humfeld was born June 17, 1975 in La Crosse. Johnny was a happy boy who loved animals. He had many pet cats throughout his life. In junior high and high school he started competing in cross country and track and field. He became a great distance runner and helped lead his team to the Minnesota State Cross Country Championship. He also qualified for two individual National Cross Country meets in Oregon and Iowa. Johnny was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan. If it had a Vikings logo on it he probably owned it. He also possessed a wealth of sports knowledge that would put Joe Buck to shame.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father, John Humfeld.
He is survived by his mother, Vicki Adkins (David); brother, Donald (Kathy); sister, Connie; niece, Chanel; nephew, Cash and several uncles, aunts and cousins spanning from Oregon to Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Johnny passed away unexpectedly, February 23, 2023, but peacefully in his sleep.

Hearing of Johnny´s passing rekindled memories of running Burns Valley and Shore Acres with him and the team. Johnny, and the team, possessed desire and dedication that was awesome to experience. I am grateful to have known Johnny and to have run those roads and trails with him.

Sorry to read about Johnny´s death. I read this and remember when we took a trip to Duluth when Johnny was 7 to run in the marathon. Our cross country skiing at Bluebird.

Sorry to hear about Johnny. I have fun memories of babysitting Johnny, Connie and Donny. This picture was probably the last time I saw them. This was in 1993. Sending prayers to your family in your time of loss.
