Leon Katapodis Obituary
February 21, 1936 - June 17, 2023
Katapodis, Leon Louis, 87, passed away on June 17, 2023, in Houston, TX.
The son of Louis and Mona Katapodis, Leon graduated from Tulsa Central in 1954, as a standout athlete. He attended The University of Tulsa and played baseball and football for the Golden Hurricanes. Leon earned a petroleum engineering degree from TU.
Leon was married to Barbara for 42 years, until cancer claimed her in 2005. They traveled the world and raised two children and were blessed with four grandchildren.
Leon is survived by his children, John Katapodis and Nancy Katapodis Lee; grandchildren, Andrew and Megan, Payton and Macy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
After a celebration of life in Houston on Wednesday, Leon's funeral will be at Moore Southlawn in Tulsa on Friday, June 23 at 1 p.m., with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233.

So sorry to hear about Leon. Great man. I met Leon back in the mid 60's, I was beginning as high school baseball umpire and Leon helped me get started. He was one of the best umpires around. God Bess Leon and his family.
