Christopher Donell Childs, 59, formerly of Spotsylvania, peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus on Monday, July 3, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis M. Childs Sr. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vanessa; one son, Alexander Childs (Carly); and one daughter, Brittany Harris (Tavon); his mother, Virgie Childs; four sisters, Sandra Broaddus (Robert), Veronica Childs, Vera Childs Fox (Jarod), and Lisa Owens (Jerry); one brother, Louis Childs Jr.; and a host of family members and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wylie Funeral Home, 9200 Liberty Rd, Randallstown, MD 21133. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, the Wake will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m with the Homegoing Celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bridgeway Community Church - Owings Mills / Reisterstown Campus, 11301 Red Run Blvd Owings Mills, MD 21117. Repast will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Bridgeway Community Church - Owings Mills / Reisterstown Campus , 11301 Red Run Blvd Owings Mills, MD 21117. Flowers can be sent to Wylie Funeral Home. Donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. I had the pleasure of attending a conference with Chris Childs at the Chesapeake Complex circa 2013. His trenchant mind held me captivated the entire day as I listened to him expound on the business. I was so sorry to learn of his diagnosis just two months into his much deserved retirement. The brightest stars are destined to shine for only a short time in this earthly realm. May God comfort all those who loved and admired this truly wonderful gentleman.

Mr. Childs was much loved by his Verizon family. He went out of his way to visit our building at the Chesapeake Complex on a regular basis and he checked in with every associate to see how we were doing. Mr Childs remembered every face and every name. He helped me personally with several issues. Mr. Childs will never be forgotten, as his Verizon family loved him the way he loved us.

I didn´t have a chance to spend more time with Chris, but I´m happy for the time and laughs that we shared. He is now along side with his dad sharing stories and watching over the family. Though they are no longer with us physically; they are next to us during this difficult time letting us know that "they are okay and not to cry."

I remember Chris from when we were kids running around in the yard playing tag. Happy Times!!! I admired his dedication to taking care of his dad, when Mr. Childs was ill. My sincere condolences to Vanessa, Alex and Brittany. Rest in peace Chris.
