Tommye Duncan Obituary
Tommye Janet Garb Duncan
February 14, 1938 - September 26, 2023
Tommye Janet Garb Duncan was born in New Iberia, LA, on February 14, 1938, and died September 26, 2023, in Tulsa, OK. I write my own obituary: My loving parents were Sam Garb and Blanche Gilchrist Garb. My body has been donated to O.S.U. Medical School.
On June 1, 1957, I had a blind date with a handsome young engineer, William Warren Duncan, and we married on February 8, 1958. That was the beginning of a wonderful lifetime of love and happiness. After several moves related to Bill's work, we settled in Sapulpa, OK. Bill died June 8, 2003, and I missed him all day, every day thereafter.
I will be united in heaven with those who preceded me in death: my beloved husband; our only daughter, Diana Lois; our beautiful granddaughter, Tiffini Rene Duncan; my parents, Blanche Gilchrist Garb and Sam Garb; brother, Fain Maurice "Bo" Garb; my sister, Fannie Marie Garb Hall; brother-in-law, Robert Lawrence Hall; sister, Blanche Gilchrist Garb Sibley; brother-in-law, Stephen Ray Sibley; and two dear friends, Clarice Olive of Sapulpa, OK, and Alma Jean Fruge Hernandez of Lafayette, LA.
Surviving are our five amazing sons, William Samuel Duncan of Abbeville, LA, David Warren Duncan (Susan) of Stillwater, OK, Robert Fain Duncan (Lori) of Sapulpa, OK, Thomas Matthew Duncan (LaVon) of Stillwater, OK, and Daniel Scott Duncan of Anthem, AZ; and my BFF, Louise Smith of Sapulpa, OK. Charming, delightful grandchildren and great-grandchildren are William Thomas Duncan (Chinara), William Asenback Duncan, Maks Rylan Duncan, Elise Rose Duncan, Jacob Matthew Duncan, Kherington Grace Duncan, Phoebe Hope Duncan, Miles Jacob Duncan, Emmett Brooks Duncan; Niki Lynette Duncan, Jennifer Danielle Duncan, Samantha Marie Duncan, Molly Renee Duncan, Skylar Kay Duncan, Lindsey Kathleen Duncan McGlaughlin (Brandon), Bailey Ann Duncan, Noah William Duncan and Sydney Grace Duncan. Also surviving are sister, Carrol Ann Garb Peery (Joseph) of Tulsa, OK; and sister-in-law, Patricia Jean Spell Garb of Monroe, LA. I'm also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins, all of whom I loved.
Donations may be made to Porta Caeli House Hospice, 2440 N. Harvard Ave., P. O. Box 580460 Tulsa, OK 74158.
