I am sorry to hear of Bill's passing. We were roommates in Cordell Hall at Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State U) from 1953 to about 1955 and shared many fun times together. I visited his home in Poteau and he visited by home in Forgan. We were both in Europe in the military at the same time; him in Germany and myself in France.
Later my family visited his family in Waterloo, Iowa, and later yet in Des Moines while he was an engineer for John Deere. Bill and his family visited us at our ranch in the Gate, Oklahoma region on another occasion. In later years we lost contact with each other until tonight when a mutual friend in Tulsa called about Bill's death. This rekindled many memories of the fun times of the past.

Chuck and I are saddened to hear that Bill Best died on December 9, 2023. He was a friend of ours since 1956 when he and Chuck did training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. We traveled in Europe with Bill when he was stationed in Regensburg, Germany with the 11th Armored Cavalry. From 1958 to 2017 the Army friends attended 19 reunions throughout the United States. Our friendship included sending a "round robin letter" to the 14 couples who lived "on the economy" while serving in Germany from 1957-1958. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Bette and his son and daughter and their families.
