James H. Dillon, 94, passed away on May 24, 2025. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in the chapel of the Church of the Holy Spirit, 6011 Merriman Road, Roanoke. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel (540) 989-3131.

Jim was my friend. I met him because he hired someone I was working for at the time. I noticed his honest frugality and appreciated it. He hired me to do several jobs over the years on his own properties, and some of his family members hired me to work on their homes.
I met Jim in 2003, when he was about 73. I have thought of him as a friend, and a brother in Christ, since then.
