Daniel Palmer Obituary

Daniel R. Palmer passed away June 5, 2025, in Richmond, VA. Born June 7, 1960, in Roanoke, VA, Dan lived in Midlothian, VA with his wife of 39 years, Nancy Shelton Palmer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Andrew F. Palmer and Zachary R. Palmer, his mother, Betty S. Manning, sisters-in-law Vicki Palmer and Billie Jean Palmer and brother-in-law W.P. Shelton (Vickie). Dan was preceded in death by brothers William A. Palmer and David O. Palmer step-brother William F. Greenway, Jr.; step-sister Sherrie Woolard; and step-father William F. Greenway. An avid reader with a quick wit and keen sense of humor, he loved being outdoors hiking, camping, kayaking or fishing with his cherished friends. He worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia. No funeral service is planned but a celebration of Dan's life will be held this summer in Roanoke.

Dan was the highlight of my day whenever I got to see him at work. His quick wit and humor was never failed to make me laugh across the cubicle hallway. VCE's Sales & Design department will miss him always.

I am sorry to see that Danny passed away. We were in elementary school at Jamison and his Grandfather was our minister at Vinton Church of the Brethren. Many fond memories of time spent with the family. I will keep you all in my prayers .
