Lorraine Spar Obituary

We are saddened to share with you the passing of Lorraine G. Spar on July 9, 2025, the beloved mother Dr. Brian Spar (Linda), Warren Spar (Stephanie) and Karen Spar Kasner (Jay), at age of 98. Grandmother to Alexandra (Jason),Brett (Ali), Jacqueline (Ben), Jared (Jennifer) and Jason (Brianne) and great-grandmother to Graham, Madeline, Sophie, Annabelle, Eleanor, Clare, Charlotte, Penelope and Emerson. She was cherished daughter of Fannie and Ruben Greenspan.
Lorraine led the way with her intellect as those who knew her can attest to. She was a history buff and an avid bridge player until 7 months ago! She graduated with an associates degree from George Washington University, worked at the Library of Congress.
Funeral to be held at B'nai Israel Cemetery on Sunday, July 13 at 1:15 p.m. Shiva will be held in New York. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. Irving Spar Endowed Graduate Fellowship Fund at the University of Rochester giving.rochester.edu or by mail to University of Rochester, P.O.
