Bartol founded Legacy.com, introducing the category of online obituaries and growing the partnership from a small number of newspaper partnerships to the current network of over 1,500 newspapers, 2,500 funeral homes and 140 broadcast stations in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, U.K. and Europe.
Evenson oversees sales for Legacy with a strong focus on client success and the delivery of best-in-class relationship management and customer service.
Before joining Legacy.com, Evenson served most recently as CMO of Retrofit and before that as SVP of Marketing for eDiets.com. She spent most of her early marketing career at Kraft Foods, growing from Assistant Brand Manager to Director of Health & Wellness. Her experience also includes roles at Peapod, Starbucks, H.E. Butt Grocery and consulting for fitness retail, new product development and online marketing.
A native of Park Ridge, Illinois, she earned Bachelor’s degrees from Northwestern University and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
Roche oversees the management of Legacy's business outside North America and serves as Managing Director of iAnnounce.
Roche has more than 25 years of experience working in the IT industry, mostly in the U.K. and Ireland. Before joining Legacy.com, he spent 5 years with the global telecommunications company British Telecom. His roles in Dublin, London and Belfast included General Manager for BT Global Services eBusiness and Director of Software and Systems Integration.
A native of Greystones, Co. Wicklow in Ireland, Roche now resides in Co. Tyrone in Northern Ireland.
Ziegler oversees revenue generation for Legacy including programmatic advertising monetization.
Ziegler joined the Company in 2012 and has held positions as VP of Advertising Strategy and Partnerships and SVP of Product. Before joining Legacy.com, he was a member of the executive leadership team at Accuen, Omnicom Media Group’s programmatic agency, and then with Tribune Interactive, leading both direct and indirect revenue channels across Tribune’s national portfolio of digital properties.
Falzone oversees operations and customer/client support for Legacy.com.
Falzone joined Legacy.com in 2002 as a Content Screener. She built Legacy's proprietary guest book screening process from the ground up to consistently deliver the highest quality service. Falzone was promoted to Director of Operations in 2007 and to Vice President of Operations in 2016. Before joining Legacy.com, she taught history at University of Kansas.
A native of Ohio, Falzone earned a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, East Bay and an MA in History from University of Kansas.
Heald oversees funeral home and newspaper partnership development. He was one of the original members of the team that started Tributes.com in 2008, which was acquired by Legacy.com in May 2015.
Heald is a fourth generation funeral director and has been licensed in Massachusetts for 19 years. He built a start-up funeral home in 2009 along with his twin brother Jim located in Shrewsbury, MA.
A Massachusetts native, Heald earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bryant University and an Associate’s degree in Funeral Service from Mount Ida College.
Laggos oversees the Human Resources function for Legacy.com, including benefits, payroll, talent acquisition, compliance, and employee relations.
Laggos joined the Company in 2008 and has built the Company’s HR department, introducing new HR systems, health and wellness initiatives, and training and development programs. Before joining Legacy.com, she was a leader on the launch team of Kohl’s Department Stores’ Chicago flagship store, and then with Freedman Seating Company, where she led talent acquisition and training.
A native of Palos Hills, Illinois, Laggos earned her Bachelor’s degrees from DePaul University and her MS in Human Resources from DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
Matarangas oversees revenue generation for commerce activities focusing on new business initiatives and strategic partnerships that grow revenue.
Matarangas joined the Company in 2008 and has held positions as Director of Integrated Commerce, Senior Manager of Revenue and Senior Technical Quality Engineer. Before that, he held technical positions at AT&T and Riverside Publishing, a leading publisher of clinical and educational standardized tests in the United States.
A native of DeKalb, Illinois, Matarangas earned a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University.
Speechley oversees newspaper affiliate relationships for Legacy.com with a focus on non-Legacy partners.
Joining Legacy.com in November 2017, Speechley brings 20+ years of media experience to the table as he most recently held the position of VP Sales at Kantar Media/SRDS and built relationships with newspapers across the US.
A native of Westchester, IL, Speechley earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Northern Illinois University.
Vander Velde oversees all newspaper affiliate relationships for Legacy.com in North America.
Vander Velde joined Legacy.com in 2002 as Director of Newspaper Affiliates. She was promoted to Director of Sales in 2007 and to Vice President of Sales in January 2008.
She previously worked as Director of Business Development for YesMail, and as Affiliate Relations Manager for Classified Ventures.
A native of Cleveland, Vander Velde earned a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Ohio and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
