Janet Ellen Stomps, of Arnold, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2016. Born on December 27, 1971, she was the wife of Scott Alan Stomps and the daughter of Robert Sr. and Sharon Duprey. Janet spent her childhood and teen years in Dundalk, Maryland where she attended General John Stricker Middle School, and then attended and graduated from Patapsco High School. During her young adult years, she was employed by SHA in Maryland where she met her husband, Scott. She thoroughly enjoyed participating in girls' soccer and later became very involved with Severna Park United Methodist Church. She and Scott participated in Bible groups there and were actively involved in those gatherings and the friendships that resulted. Adam's Ribs in Severna Park, Maryland was a favorite spot of theirs to frequent. Janet also loved Annapolis and enjoyed outings there as well. At family gatherings, she was always the first to pitch in and ask what needed to be done. She had a sweet and caring nature and was always at the ready with a kind smile and a warm hug to share. She is survived by her husband, Scott Alan Stomps; her daughter, Katelyn Capps, and her husband, Trenton; her son, Ryan Leary, and his wife, Megan; her daughter, Ashley Harrison and her husband, Shane; and her siblings Kimberley Bowen and her husband, Jeffery; Aaron Duprey and his wife, Christine; Bobby Duprey Jr.; and her nieces: Amber and Hailey Bowen; Chelsea Adams; Ally, Dari and Kira Duprey. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sean Capps, Brinley and Hannah Harrison, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of her fourth grandchild, Benjamin Capps. Janet was recently predeceased by her Aunt Lynn Mayeski, her godmother. In most recent years, her dearest passion was her cherished grandchildren. Loving them, doting on them and caring for them happily filled a good part of her days. She was as beloved to her grandchildren as they were to her. Janet was so dearly loved, and will be so deeply missed, by so many. Family and friends may visit on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 2 PM-4 PM and 6 PM-8 PM at Barranco & Sons, P.A.
