Michael Jay LeMaster, 65, was born on August 2, 1952 in Houston to B.C. and Reva (Benton) LeMaster. He passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Cleveland, Texas.
Michael married the love of his life, Bright Morton, on August 5, 1978. He loved his family very much and was loved and adored by his two daughters and his entire family. He worked as an industrial painter at Western Company and BJ Services. He was an avid LOUIS L'AMOUR reader, bass fisherman, and was extremely proud of his Houston Astros, Texans and Oilers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Gearheart officiating. Burial will follow in New Zion Cemetery in Trinity, Texas. Visitation will be held beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Groveton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made to the Cancer Society or the JDRF.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, B.C. LeMaster; mother, Reva Mondragon; step-father, AC Mondragon and a sister, Sandy LeMaster. His survivors include his loving wife of fourty years, Bright LeMaster; daughter, Stacy Gillham and husband, Jimmy Gillham, daughter, Brandy Schanfish and husband, Bubba Schanfish; sister, Pam Whorton; sister, Gina LeMaster; sister, Rita LeMaster; grandchildren: Brandyn LeMaster, Casey Rhoden, Zachery Gillham, Ashtyn Gillham, Jeff'ry Rhoden, Brady Rhoden, Peyton Leftwich, Mackenzie Schanfish; 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers: Brandyn LeMaster, Casey Rhoden, Zachery Gillham, Jeff'ry Rhoden, Peyton Leftwich, and Brady Rhoden. Honorary Pallbearers: Stacy and Jimmy Gillham, Brandy and Bubba Schanfish.
