Pat H. Olmstead, 58, of Valleyview Ave., passed away at Ellis Hospital on Friday, July 3, 2009, after a long illness. Born in 1950 in Oneonta, NY, he was a son of Dale K. Olmstead and Mary G. Gallagher Olmstead Smith. Pat was a graduate of Oneonta High School. He was an avid hunter, NASCAR and Yankee fan and loved camping with family and Harley Davidsons. He was a lifetime member of the Voohreesville Rod and Gun Club. Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Karen (Lyons) Olmstead; his loving daughter, Laurie (Jim) Touchette of Rotterdam; and his loving son, Kyle Olmstead of Oneonta; his beloved mother, Mary Olmstead Smith of Rotterdam; three loving grandchildren, Emma, Katie and Adam Touchette of Rotterdam; and three beloved brothers, Mike Olmstead of Rotterdam, Jim Olmstead of Oneonta and Gerald Olmstead of Brooksville, FL. Pat was predeceased by his father, Dale Olmstead; his stepfather, Ronald J. Smith; and a brother, Robert Olmstead. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, Inc., 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam on Monday, July 6, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Immediately following, funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family .
