Lillian HAMPEL Obituary
(Moore)
1955 - 2015
Lillian passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on April 13, 2015. Despite being diagnosed with peritoneal cancer in 2012, she lived an active and fulfilling life until her passing. Lillian taught high school science for many years, most notably at McNally, and relished her interactions with students and colleagues. She loved nature, and when her illness forced her to step down, she volunteered frequently at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society and the Edmonton Humane Society.
She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-six years, Rex Moore, children Daniel (Danielle) and Katharine, granddaughter Avery – the light of her life, father Bert, and sister Gabrielle. She was predeceased by her mother, Erika.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Helen Steed and everyone at the Cross Cancer Institute for their excellent care. Also thank you to the staff of Unit 3D3 at the University of Alberta Hospital for their care and compassion during Lillian's final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:30 p.m., at the Royal Glenora Club in the Braemar Room, 11160 River Valley Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton or the Edmonton Humane Society.

I had an informal relationship with Lillian as a colleague at McNally. Our
meetings were not scheduled, only random. Each time we met it was as if we had known each other for a long time. Within minutes, we were caught up on what seemed important at the time. Lillian was a lovely person, who gave me the lift in life which was so greatly appreciated.
May she rest in peace and be always remembered

Lillian, there are few words to describe her inner beauty and love of life. Lillian's outer beauty radiated to all that knew her. Lillian will be sadly missed by everyone. She touched us all in a very special way. Rest now my lovely friend and find peace. The struggle is over.
