Mrs. Charlise Hughes DeLoach, 85, of Rose Drive in Springfield, formerly of the Furman community in Hampton County, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, at her residence.
Mrs. DeLoach was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Branchville, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Bartley and Clara Hughes. She was a graduate of Lander College and had taught school for 42 years.
Mrs. DeLoach was a member of Furman Methodist Church where she was the pianist for many years. She also played at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church.
Surviving is her husband, Robert Causey DeLoach of Springfield; son, Mark DeLoach of Springfield; brother, Bartley Wayne Hughes of Furman; sister, Jeanette Long of Estill; two grandsons, Drew DeLoach of Furman and Brian DeLoach and wife Hanna of Estill; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. DeLoach was predeceased by three sisters, Dolly Youmans, Betty Youmans and Melba McKenzie.
Graveside services, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, at Stafford Baptist Church Cemetery near Furman.
