Wendy Knepper Obituary
Wendy graduated from McDowell High School and went on to earn her B.S. in Psychology and Early Childhood Education from Elmira College. She was the owner of First Class Flooring and co-owner of Mudry Floor Systems. Wendy was a very outgoing woman, devoted mother, and proud business owner. She enjoyed being physically fit, working, and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins. She lit up a room when she entered. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her dad, John P. Mantsch, in 1999 and stepdad, Thomas Fortuna, in 2019.
Wendy is survived by her son, Conner, and daughter, Chloe, and their devoted father, Rich Knepper. She is also survived by her mother, Lois Mantsch Fortuna, three brothers, John Mantsch and his wife Erika, Andrew Mantsch, and Timothy Mantsch and his wife Ally, sister, Heidi Mantsch, and stepbrother, Michael Fortuna and his wife Lindsay. She is also survived by nieces, Olivia, Sophie and Lily Mantsch and nephews, Jack Mantsch and Everett, Camden and Nolan Fortuna.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services there at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home, for Conner and Chloe's future educational needs.

Wendy and I worked together years back and stayed connected on FB. Fortunately, i got to hang with her and some friends a month or so ago. She had the same smile, wit, and happy energy as she did the day i met her. Her presence was strong and her laugh and personality was infectious. Gone way too soon. Best of thoughts to her family and friends.

I met Wendy when she interned at Erie Insurance
we were co-workers we also remained friends and saw each other while her son Connor and my daughter Alexis attended school together at Chestnut Hill. Wendy was always kind, energetic and had the prettiest smile. She will be sadly missed and my prayers and thoughts go out to her family and children.

Ive know Wendys daughter Chloe for a year or two. In May 2019 I think thats when they moved in next door. I immediately became closer to them. I was very shocked once I found out what happened to Wendy. Anytime I needed someone to talk to I would always go next door to take my mind off of things. I am just so heart broken because of this. Im so so for their loss and I hope they are doing okay. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel.

I just met Wendy about a week and a half ago when she came to my home to help me choose flooring for my home. Immediately we made a connection thinking we must have met some time before--as we both thought the other looked familiar. I found it so heartwarming to make a connection with a new friend like her in those couple short visits. It was clear how intelligent, motivated, and kind-hearted she was. I felt I made a new friend that day. My deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends.
