Jackson Huratu Niino

JACKSON HURATU NIINO

Jackson was born in Madera on March 22, 1925, and passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2006. He was preceded in death by parents, Nobuichi and Shizue Niino; brothers, Yukio Niino and George Niino. Jackson attended Washington Union and Dinuba High School. During WWII the family relocated to Poston, AZ, and interned there until the end of the war. Jackson served in the U.S. Army for five years and was a recent veteran of the Korean War. After military service he returned to Fresno and farmed until his retirement in 1991. Jackson thoroughly enjoyed gardening, going to Table Mountain and Chuckchansi, karaoke and his family. He will be sorely missed by all. He is survived by sisters, Mineko Fukushima and Fusako Fukushima, both of Dinuba, and Michiko (Yutaka) Nakamichi of Fresno; sister-in-law, Sachiko Niino of Madera; and many nieces and nephews.
