Morgan Seelye, 87, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 12, 2021. Morgan was born March 20, 1933, son of Douglas Stuart and Maida Ruth LeGeyt Seelye. On August 22, 1959 he married his sweetheart Gail Burgess Collins, who predeceased him. He leaves three children: Roy Collins Seelye and his fiancé Alison Hollo, Elizabeth Torres and her husband Jose, and Abigail Jean Napier and her husband William (Al); Nine grandchildren Sarah Jean Napier Venezia, Heather Marie Napier, Jessica Rose Seelye, Shelby Z. Leone, Hannah Erin Seelye, Katharine Mairead Seelye, Barrett Christine Hollo, Steven Laszlo Hollo and Whitaker Samuel Hollo; 4 great grandsons Justin J. Negron Jr., William Morgan Venezia, Chandler Ray Venezia and Joshua Riley Mills- Venezia and a great granddaughter Jamiee Elizabeth Rodriguez. Morgan was also predeceased by his brother John, his son Douglas and his dear friend and companion Jacqueline C. Crooks. Morgan graduated with a Bachelor of Science- Civil Engineering Degree from Yale University in 1955 and after serving on active duty in the U.S. Air Force until 1958, remained in the active Air Force Reserve until 1983, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. From 1958 he was occupied as a civil engineer in various positions, retiring in 1999 from the Town of Berlin after serving the Town for 35 years as a Director of Public Works and Town Engineer. Morgan was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Berlin, the Niantic Bay Yacht Club and the Cresent Cruising Club, and the Berlin Congregational Church. He was previously a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational, of Glastonbury. There will be no calling hours or memorial service due to COVID restrictions. Interment to be at Green Cemetery, Glastonbury, at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children. Although I didn't know you well Morgan, we were connected by your Aunt, and my Great Aunt Zora Legeyt Collins. You were very kind to me and my family and I will never forget that. RIP. My condolences to your family.
