KEARNEY - Jean J. Theobald Divan Sall, 92, of Kearney died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Mother Hull Home.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jerry Ness officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings.

O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 28, 1921, in Hastings to A.J. and Merle (Likely) Theobald.

On Sept. 24, 1942, she married Elmer Divan in Colorado Springs, Colo. He preceded her in death.

On April 23, 1977, she married Clifford Sall. He died May 6, 2013.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Sue and Rick Penney of Surprise, Ariz., and John and Sue Divan of Kearney; stepson, Bryan Sall of Kearney; son-in-law, Ron Hinz of Cheyenne, Wyo.; grandchildren, Laura Penney Shamir and Michael Penney, both of New York, Steve Hendrickson of Casper, Wyo., Carrie Hendrickson McClelland of Arvada, Colo., and Heather Divan Hasbrouck and Lindsay Divan, both of Kearney; stepgrandchildren, Eric Hinz of Fort Collins, Colo., and Lisa Hinz Thornhill of Albuquerque, N.M.; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She grew up in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School in 1938 and Hastings College in 1942. She and Elmer lived in Omaha before moving to Kearney in 1952.

She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and PEO and was an admiral in the Nebraska Navy. She was also a master gardener and enjoyed gardening, sewing and activities with her family.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Ruth McKelvie; daughter, Shirley Divan-Hinz; and stepgrandson, Chris Hinz.
